Some studies have shown that feeding your pet smaller meals over the course of the day can prevent pet obesity and lead to better health. Unfortunately, most working people can't get home to feed the cat at lunchtime, and many will forget to put out the dog's breakfast in their rush to get out the door in the morning! Make sure your pet is fed regular amounts on a steady feeding schedule with the LeBistro Portion-Control Feeder, a programmable, automatic pet feeder that dispenses portions from 1/4 cup to 3 cups at three selected times per day. The LeBistro Portion-Control Feeder is powered by three D batteries (sold separately).

- Love it! Review by Plant
Bought for two of the above reasons, "tired of getting up at 5:00 AM to feed cat." So far, we still wake up just to watch him wait for the food to come out...it is so funny. I hope he doesn't discover putting the paw up to get more. The other for being able to not be there for a meal time. Programming a snap! There's still always the possibility if you're away, it doesn't work (batteries) or if something goes awry. You could always change out batteries just before you leave town to be sure they were adequate. If you had a cord, electricity could go out. The only real insurance is to have someone check on things every other day or so. (Posted on 7/8/13)

Your Rating Product Petmate 10LB LeBistro Portion Control Automatic Dog Cat Feeder x2 Case
Absolutely horrible. not only did it take a long time to get here, it worked horribly. I STRONGLY recommend buying some other auto pet feeder because this one is not suited for it's price. It filled the bowl up WAYYY to high above what it says in description, and i followed the instructions. Toss this out the window and use something else, because this is absolutely HORRIBLE. PERIOD.

- Great product! Review by Buster the Cat
Good product for a great price. It is simple to use and consistent in its feedings- no glitches. The top is a little difficult to remove when it's time refill, but other than that I have zero complaints. I recommend purchasing this product. (Posted on 3/10/11)
- "Product delivers what it promises" Review by B-Mo
It was easy to program and has a large enough capacity for a few days. (Posted on 3/10/11)
- Feeder is a godsend Review by K.M. Thomas
Oh, if only the automatic litterbox worked this well! We have 3 cats and have this set to dispense food 3 times a day. We initially purchased it because we were going to be on vacation for a week, but have decided to just keep on using it because it works so well. Dispenses on time, just the right amount, and is nice and quiet, so our skittish cat doesn't get too jarred. Great buy! (Posted on 3/10/11)
- Love the product, Heres a thought Review by Tom
My particular one seems to have problems staying on. I bought new batteries and they are not the problem. I have the 5lb version as well and it works like a dream. I like the options on the 10 lb better but if it does not always run it is worthless. I think the battery slots may be the issue. With the AC adapter this problem goes away. (Posted on 3/10/11)
- GREAT FEEDER Review by Alexek
I feed 3 outside cats that already lived on the property when I moved in. They were eating lizards and birds, plus they get some food from next door. Filled, it lasts 3 weeks. The cats love it, and eat fewer birds. When it is empty, the cats line up at the door and meow. They love it, and so so I. (Posted on 3/10/11)
- works great! Review by Must love cats
My cats used to wake me up in the middle of the night to be fed. They now associate being fed with the feeder rather than me. End result: they let me sleep all night. (Posted on 3/10/11)
- Good product with few disappointments Review by Dbakk
This worked great for us. My girlfriend's cat used to wake me up at 5:30 AM to get fed. After using this feeder about 3 weeks, she has finally stopped pestering me and just sits by the bowl and waits for the food to come out.
The 10lb capacity was actually cheaper than the 5lb model, which is why I got it. It looks pretty nice, but we still try to hide it in the corner, since it is more of an eyesore than a plain food bowl.
My biggest complaint is that it does not dispense small portions that well. Our cat gets a 1/4 cup of dry food twice per day and this feeder seems to have a hard time dispensing that small of portion. For some reason it spits out a few pieces of food at a time over the course of 5-10 minutes. Its almost like it jams, but it has always eventually dispensed the full 1/4 cup serving. I don't know if this same problem exists for larger portions.
We were hoping to lower the food portions and feed our cat 3 times per day, but the minimum serving is a 1/4 cup, so that didn't work out. Not a huge deal, but still worth mentioning.
Overall, I am happy with this product. My main reason for buying it was so I didn't have to wake up early to feed the cat. It is also nice because we can now leave for the weekend and not have to worry about finding a pet-sitter. (Posted on 3/10/11)
- Okay at first... Review by Melissa
I bought this feeder for my cat and it was great at first, but my cat discovered rather quickly that if he put his paw into the feeder's crevice he could force the machine to give him more food. He was eating constantly, which negates the product's purpose. Unfortunately, I cannot continue to use it even with my small dogs for the very same reason. (Posted on 3/10/11)
- Good product one small problem Review by Bonnie Jean
This is a great product that gives me freedom to not worry about being home on time to feed my cat. I control how much she eats and feed her at the same time everyday. This is also great for those weekend getaways I can feel safe that no one is going threw my house and I know my cat is being feed the right amount of food and on time
One down side to this product is my cat can trigger food to come out with her paw. So when she wants food she can put her paw up the despenser and trigger it to release food. Other than that I love this product. I don't think this would be an issue for dog owners!! (Posted on 3/10/11)
- Much cheaper than 3 days in kennel! Review by lab lover
If using for two dogs, buy two and put as far apart as possible. Make sure to sync timing and measure the amount served to what you need. Worked well for couple of nights away! (Posted on 3/10/11)
- Great product! Review by Theresa
I first bought Le Bistro for my cat. It helped when I had to travel for my job. She is on her second one right now. I recently purchased another one for my newest addition to the family. Now I can keep my dog and cat on set feeding schedules. The only problem I had with the original one was the battery storage area. The plastic clips broke which is why I purchased again. The batteries are slightly difficult to remove but otherwise a great purchase. (Posted on 3/10/11)
- Love it! Review by L & L
[...] It gives us freedom to travel & not worry what time we get home knowing the cat always has food. It only takes non moisture type food, which our cat likes, but it would be nice to be able to mix a few treats in the food ,which are the moisture type. Very satisfied with the product & glad we made the purchase. (Posted on 3/10/11)
- Wonderfully convenient product!! Review by DingoDog
This is the second one I have owned and it works without fail. However, after about 18 months two of the plastic pieces that controls the portions detached and my dog ingested them. Thankfully he threw it up before it got past his stomach. So after about a year whenever you fill it, it is a good idea to just take a quick look at those plastic pieces and make sure not coming loose. Could be a real problem for smaller dogs if they eat them (mine is a large dog). (Posted on 3/10/11)
- Very convenient Review by Cat mom
I have an older model also and it is very difficult to program. This one is very easy. Although it is very big (10 lb capacity) it is nice because it doesn't have to be filled as often. I have 4 cats and 2 of them are over weight so it's nice that the food is measured out for them at certain times of the day so they don't eat too much at one time. My only complaint is that it doesn't have the option to plug in. That way if your away and the batteries run out you don't have to worry about it not working. A plug with battery back up would be great! (Posted on 3/10/11)
- My Cat is FAT!!! Review by Edgar's Owner
We received the feeder only 2 days before we left for vacation. During the 2 days, we tested the feeder and was very disappointed (so was our cat) with the 1/4 cup setting. It only pushed out 2 to 4 pieces of dried cat food. I changed it to the 1/2 cup setting and 3 times a day. WAY TOO MUCH FOOD!! 6 days later and about 3 pounds on my cat, we reduced the feeding to 2 times a day. Works fantastic but my cat like to nibble on the food he can get with his paw fondling the dispenser.... (Posted on 3/10/11)
- No More Daily Feedings! Review by Confessa
I love it. My cat loves it. I am happy to not have to go back and forth from bag to bowl a couple of times daily. I just wish the power cord would be included with the product. I have to order the power cord for it separately now. That's a bit of a hassel. (Posted on 3/10/11)
