How Advantage II Works
Use Advantage II monthly to kill fleas on your dog. One of its active ingredients, imidacloprid, acts on the nervous system of the flea to cause paralysis and subsequent death. The other active ingredient of Advantage II is pyriproxyfen, an insect growth regulator (IGR) that, in combination with imidacloprid, kills all flea life stages on the treated dog and its surroundings, and prevents fleas from infesting your home.

- Kills reinfesting fleas (e.g. newly hatched fleas jumping back on the dog) within 2 hours;
- Kills lice on dogs;

Your Rating Product ADVANTAGE II Cat Flea Control over 9 lbs Purple 6 Month My cat developed an adult onset allergy to fleas. She is an indoor/outdoor cat. Courage is a four year old female DSH. Even though she's a rescued stray, she has never had issues with fleas before. It began when she started to bite the end of her tail until it bleed. When we took her to the vet she recommended treating her with Advantage every three weeks until December, when the fleas die in FL. It's not December yet and it's just now dropping to cooler temps, but the fleas are gone, my cat has fur on the tip of her tail, and she is infinitely happier! (Posted on 3/10/11)
